Sunday Night Football is oozing with storylines as the Green Bay Packers battle the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The pregame narrative: Aaron Rodgers faces the Packers for the first time. The veteran quarterback will likely be motivated to shine in a pivotal primetime showdown. Jordan Love, however, aims to prove that he's the man to bring the next Lombardi Trophy to Titletown.

Packers vs. Steelers predictions
SGP: Steelers +3.5 | Rodgers over 1.5 touchdowns | Smith over 28.5 receiving yards (+360)
Steelers +3.5 (-132): Betting on Mike Tomlin and the Steelers as a home underdog has historically been a wise move.
Pittsburgh is 20-7-3 ATS in this spot since he took over as head coach, which is an extremely impressive record.

While this trend is worth mentioning, it's not the main reason for this pick.
Rodgers has led the Steelers to a strong 4-2 record this season, and his teammates should be extra motivated to pick him up in a big spot.
Pittsburgh also holds a rest advantage in this game. It played on Thursday Night Football last week, while Green Bay is playing its second road game in as many weeks.
The Packers have not looked good on the road, either, going a pedestrian 1-1-1 despite not playing a team with a winning record as a visitor.
Sunday Night Football SGP picks
Rodgers over 1.5 touchdowns (-114): Few NFL players are more spiteful than Rodgers.
I expect Rodgers to be in peak form against Green Bay, considering the split between him and the franchise was not amicable.

Rodgers isn't lighting the league on fire this year, but he's tied for fifth in passing touchdowns with 14 and has topped this number in four of six games.
Green Bay has allowed a fair number of touchdowns to QBs. The Packers are tied for allowing the 10th-most pass touchdowns per game (1.7).
Smith over 28.5 receiving yards (-118): Lastly, I'm betting on Smith having a solid receiving day for the Steelers.
The tight end has not topped this mark in 2025 despite averaging a respectable 4.3 targets per game.
The matchup is right for him, however, in Week 8. The Packers are ceding the 11th-most receiving yards to tight ends this season (62.5).
Additionally, they're allowing the most receptions per game to the position (8.3).
Smith likely remains involved on offence and should have a strong performance on Sunday night.
